- Our house changed cities. We didn’t move, but apparently it did. We now live in Taylorsville, 84129. For those who sent Christmas cards to 84084, we expect to receive them sometime this spring.
- Brandon turned 2 and is as feisty and independent as ever. His favorite words are, “I don’t like it”; “I don’t want it”; and “Go away”. Oh- and he has developed an excellent right-hook.
- Gabe got to go to New York this fall. His favorite thing: the flea market where he got to buy an Angry Birds stuffed animal and deep fried Oreo’s (who would have thought that would beat the Lion King, Central Park, 9/11 Memorial, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Washington Square, staying in Times Square and the Museum of Natural History?).
- Michele started an MBA program, expected completion; fall of 2012. Expected date of committal; December following.
- Pat started building a deck, expected completion Nov 1 Thanksgiving Christmas sometime in 2012.
- Calvin & Josh started Kindergarten!!! They’ve learned all the important stuff… how to read (Jim the Twin is a fave!), the green speckled frogs song (it can be sung over and over without getting old), how to tell if the girl at your table likes you (she tells you that you are going to marry her), and that you don’t want to show up at home with a red ticket.
- We took a Clampett style family camping trip to Southern Oregon. Seriously- the SUV had at least 400 pounds of stuff strapped to the exterior with another 250 pounds tucked inside. Highlight: the Veatch family reunion in Klamath Falls (so, so awesome)! Pat has agreed to go camping again in 2015.
- Pat is becoming an excellent homemaker! While Michele is away on monthly business trips, he manages everything superbly. The boys eat well (they love Lucky Charms and chicken nuggets), they always look spiffy (isn’t bed-head a trend?), and there are very few tantrums (and when there are, Gabe is pretty good about putting Pat in time-out.)
- Milestones: Calvin can work an iPad better than his mother, Josh can swear louder than his father, Gabe’s mastered toast and is moving on to grilled cheese , and Brandon has memorized 14 episodes of Super Why, 9 episodes of Bubble Guppies, and 103 episodes of Thomas the Train. A family of many talents, I know!
- The year ended with everyone healthy and happy! We are so blessed!!
